what a great day Jan 31st 2010 was... it was the first time I worked with Cynthia MacLeod and Jon Matthews.
Cynthia recorded her album Riddle at Jon's former studio Big Grey Sound ... she and Jon thought that having a bowed upright bass and other strings ( cell and violin I think ) would be nice underneath her fiddle tune for Niel Gow's lament...
took a few takes as I couldn't seem to get the best bowed sound and I think I wasn't playing along with any guide track other than the fiddle melody .. so no chord instrument to tune to... but I got it down...
I vaguely remember doing some bass solo on her arrangement of Blue Rodeo's Cynthia ( wonder why she picked that tune? ) ... but I have no idea if it made it on or not...
