Jesus Christ Superstar
08 May 2014When I was pretty young... like .. 6-9 .. my mother let us watch Jesus Christ Superstar. This was a new Jesus for me... the one I had learned about before was just stuck on a cross .. I obviously didn't get it back then..either way.
But I do know.. the show stuck with me... over the years mom would mention it or watch it or play music from it.. and it always stuck with me. When I became a musician the show and it's story and the depth of the music became even closer to me... as a bassist ...well....the whole thing is basically a 70's groove bass solo :) ... I thought... some day I NEED to play this show...
So when Tanya Bernard contacted me back in November 2013 and mentioned Jesus Christ Superstar I absolutely jumped at the chance. Regardless of work and life, I would work it out so I could play the 3 shows in May...and I sure as hell am.
May 8,9,10 at Harbourfront Theatre. Have already had a couple band rehearsals and the cast has been rehearsing for a long time.. months I do believe.
It's going to be wicked awesome.
