I got to play "Birdland" Need I say more?
Well I will... it was here in this class ( yes it was a class for credit in my high-school...amazing ) where I learned so much about becoming a working musician.... How to groove with a drummer.... How to make a dynamic arch of intensity walking under someone soloing...How to understand chord theory..make triads...7ths...9ths..minor thirds... and how to use all of that to make my OWN bass lines.

The first tune I did this on was Good King Wenceslas .. in one 16 bar section .. I sat at home with pen and paper and I composed ( I...com..posed!!! ) a 16 bar walking bass line created using my new-found theory knowledge.
