Birchwood Strings Program

01 Oct 1991

Birchwood was my first musical experience!!! It started in grade 9 in a general music class when my friend Chris Walsh wanted to learn how to play bass so he suggested I learn too. I thought he was crazy and in class that day, he mentioned it to the teacher and she said "Here…play this" and she handed me this ugly, scary, weird, BIG Fiddle and I just started playing, not having a clue what I was doing. But somehow it was different than anything I'd ever done. Before that my biggest goal in life was to be the first NHL Goalie that didn’t skate.

Now I wanted to play bass.
