In the summer of 2020, following a performance with Tara MacLean in the beautiful town of Pictou, Nova Scotia, the night took a turn that every musician hopes for. Dave Gunning invited a few of us back to his studio to unwind and share some stories.

As the night progressed, Dave pulled up a fresh track he’d been working on. We were so pumped to hear somethign unreleased, and then our minds were blown..he asked... "Would you all be up for singing some gang vocals on it?"

Of course!!!  We spent the next hour laying down take after take, laughing and leaning into the raw energy of the song. It was one of those "only in the Maritimes" moments where professional work and genuine friendship collide.

Fast forward two years, and that track was officially released on Dave’s album. Seeing my name credited in the liner notes as a vocalist was a proud moment—not just because of the credit itself, but because it’s a permanent record of a fantastic night of music-making with some of the best in the business.
