Arthur LeBlanc String Quartet

06 Aug 2001

When the Jive Kings played for a sold out crowd at the 2001 Indian River Festival for the second year in a row, I had the wonderful experience of not only playing the amazing piece of music "Rhapsody in Blue" by George Gershwin, but I also got to work with some other incredible musicians as well. For this performance the Arthur LeBlanc String Quartet was turned into a Quintet as the five of us made up the string section for the performance. Our trombonist/manager Bob Nicholson adapted the original orchestral version for the 8 Jive Kings and the Arthur LeBlanc String Quartet with Robert Kortgaard on piano and Peter Tiefenbach conducting. We were lucky enough to have this performace broadcast live and rebroadcasted by CBC Radio.
